All built in counters are sufficiently strong for desktop surfaces. They are NOT mounted to withhold the weight of a person.
Cabinets with handles are for guests’ storage needs, and or contain items available for guest use. The contents of cabinets without handles are Covert Prime stuff. Contents range from supplies for the residence to personal owner storage.
The coat closet at the entry is not intended for guest use. However, if you have bought tails, or a ballgown, (for example) you may make use.
